The Unwrapped Life – Life!

Ditch the Bottle

What can I say, this has to be the single most asked thing on my Instagram account. I am really open about switching to unwrapped life shampoo and conditioner bars. In the beginning I switched for environmental reasons but I honestly continued to use them because they worked so well and changed my hair.

First things first, I have never really been a drug store brand shampoo user, I always find myself wanting to take the advice from the professionals so I have used salon products since my early 20’s….that was a while ago 😉 now that you know that; hear me when I say this stuff is JUST.AS.Good!!!

It wasn’t until after I started using it that I realized it was a female owned company (two best friends, how awesome is that?). Unwrapped Life is also Canadian which makes me over joyed. They are committed to the highest environmental standards and don’t even accept returns (this is a growing trend that I am all here for) to save on shipping impact. The quality of the product is to me not comparable to any other bar out there. This stuff works!

So I figured I would answer some of my most asked questions in this post so it is all in one place. So here we go

What do they look like?

Here is what the bars look like, these are my new bars right out of the packaging.

The Flecked bar which is also bigger is your shampoo and the smaller smooth bar is your conditioner…..and the best news? I usually run out at the same time, when was the last time that happened for your with a bottle?!

How do you use them?

First you start by getting your hair wet as well as the bar, you just rub the shampoo bar on your hair and then massage in. I tend to put the bar on the parts of my hair that get the greasiest and that is my top hairline and then the hair line behind my ears. Put the bar down get a little more water on there and lather away!!

Does it really Lather?

Yep! just look at all of that lather. I have tried a lot of natural and safe shampoos and the lack of lather is always what makes me look for another product. This also doesn’t take much just a couple swipes with the bar on my wet hair.

Does the Conditioner actually work? Any Tangles?

This is actually my favourite conditioner that I have used, this is straight out of the shower and I can run my fingers right through my hair with no issues. I find it to be very light, I don’t like having a residue feeling leftover so the balancer one is great for me.

How long does it last?

No Picture for this one, but I find that my bars last about 6 months, now I don’t wash my hair everyday, I range between 3-5 days depending on what I do. I think that in itself speaks volumes to how great the quality of clean these bars give you.

How do you store it?

I have a clay dish from Unwrapped life that helps to absorb some of the moisture, but you can store it inside your shower anywhere that the water isn’t right on top of it.

I hope that this answered some questions for everyone about my favourite shampoo and conditioner. If you are wanting to try out some bars for yourself you can shop their online shop or check their wholesalers in your area. If you are local to Ottawa, you can go grab them at my favourite boutique spa Blush & Black in Almonte.

Let me know in the comments if you have tried shampoo bars, unwrapped Life or other and how you liked them.

This is never my intention so I laid out exactly what I mean when I post that my workout is complete.
